Baby Steps

If you've been reading my blogs for the past few days, you know that life's been really stressful in my little corner of the world. Well, there have been no miracles. The stress is still here. I'm getting a bit more adept at managing it. Thank You, God!!!

AND!!! I had a huge victory on the way home yesterday! Usually, when life gets this stressful, I cave in for fast foods. I got off the interstate, nearly home. I was ready for a soft spot on the sofa. I looked over and saw a new slogan on Chick-fil-A's sign. I don't remember what they were advertising, but I do know that my stomach did a quick and hard lurch!! It did NOT want that fried chicken! emoticon I was sooooo delighted that my body was rejecting that unhealthy fast food! Especially during a season of stress when she usually craves fast food!

Now, if she'd just be quiet about those cashews she saw at the market yesterday, we'd be getting along a lot better! I keep reminding her that they are salted and that she really doesn't do well with THAT much salt. That if she'll hold out until we find plain roasted cashews, I'll get her some. We haven't discussed the quantity that "some" actually is yet. She's probably not going to be so happy about that. But, we'll deal with that another day!

These are the healthiest cashews I know of. We buy them a coupla times a year and keep them in the freezer. I like to soak them overnight in distilled water and they are so creamy.

I do not want to perpetuate "her" argument, but thought a healthy option might be a compromise!

    I'm still chuckling over the conversation between you and your girl-stomach! I'm actually impressed that yours is evolved enough to have language skills...mine just grunts and points! emoticon

Maybe more time on SP will give my the gift of reason, and maybe if I keep listening, I'll learn how to communicate in the meantime. Thanks for this blog - always a pleasure!.

    Cashews are a dangerous trigger for me, too! Can't eat just a few so I avoid them if I can. Good for you, not giving in to fast food! It sounds like a real NSV (non scale victory)!
