Nutrition and Balance

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

There has to be a way to get this all to balance out!!! Today I was slightly over in Carbs, under in fat, protein and calories. It seems like every day I end up off somewhere. It is a balancing act for sure. I am trying to do this by pre-planning my meals, but somehow it just has not been balance totally. I am trying not to get so concerned, since I am usually pretty close, and only under by a few calories, carbs, fat, protein. But sure wish I could get this down better!
I did feel better today, and even made some home made soup with my son this evening. It came out very good and saved me from too many Calories from Tortellini (we put it in a broth with spinach, mushrooms and corn and seasoning). My son and husband both loved it and we made just enough for the three of us so we did not have any left-overs, which I was glad since I am not sure how well the tortellini would have been re-heating (I was concerned they would fall apart).
I also got more exercises done today which also made me feel better too!

Just remember that those are just guides to get you on the right track. It isn't imperative to be spot-on with your numbers, just in the general area. You can drive yourself crazy trying to get the numbers exact. You're doing a great job as you are, so you must be getting what you're needing.

You are doing great! Come close on the balancing if you can, but don't obsess about a few grams over or under.

I agree with the person who said it is the weeks and months that count. I do not think anyone hasevery single meal and day perfectly balanced

Just logging and eating healthy helps so much! You are on the right track. I never get it right either, but try to eat healthy as possible. I have to eat less protein than recommended. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Don't worry about the days. It's the weeks and months that count.

It sure can be frustrating at times. Keep tracking emoticon consistent healthy choices will eventually balance themselves out. Reading labels helps me a lot and learning all I can from the articles and quizzes on the site. emoticon

Sounds like you're doing fine to me ... I think it's like when you're feeding a toddler ... As long as it balances out over a couple of days it works out fine.

Don't worry so much about getting it exactly in balance. You are so close and you will find the right balance when it's time. :) Hugs!

I don't worry about being strictly, exactly at certain numbers every day; for me, it's the weekly average that matters. It all seems to balance out by the end of the week!

I just ran weekly Nutritional Reports for the last two months, and monthly reports for past year, to give to my doctor (appt tomorrow). It's amazing how it all works out!

Plus, varying your nutritional amounts is good for your body - your metabolism is more active when processing different combinations each day - and having more leeway with your daily food choices is better for your mind, and easier on the emotions.

YOU'RE DOING GREAT!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Best wishes & Happy Sparking ~ emoticon emoticon

Sounds like you're doing everything right even if you're over or under on the Nutrition least you're trying and you're logging it. It seems my problem here lately is always being over on sodium. It use to be protein but since I started eating protein bars, now it's the sodium. I'm in the same boat as you...we are both still trying to figure it out. Hang in there, we'll get this right yet. emoticon
