My children and I are preparing for Valentine's Day...with creative ideas... cards, crafts, table decor for the Valentine Breakfast. ...by the way, I'm in love with textiles...esp felt!
It's a tradition in our family to celebrate the holiday of "Love" as a family ( not just for "sweethearts")
I decorate our dining table in an esp elegant way, crocheted tablecloth, name cards, small sweet treats for throughout the day ( no scarfing allowed in my house....LOL! ), tiny "love" gifts for each person according to his/her personality....and a breakfast that even the Irish would envy! LOL!!
Also, grandparents have already sent cards in the snail mail that I have reserved to set at the table as well....and then we have our own mailboxes at our desks that each child might have the opportunity to give each other special treats....
Here is a link I found that resembles how we make Valentine crafts to send to our loved ones as well as decorate our own home. These are called Valentine Stained Glass Creations. Here are just a few pics of different ways to be creative with these hearts:::...
You are doing a lot and I like the fact that you involve the whole family. good on you. You are building marvelous memories and something your children would cherish.
What a nice tradition! I love your crafts, and I will definitely have to pick up on some of them. I'm crafty too, but I can never think of things to do for Valentine's Day. And those strawberries look delicious!
Absolutely a beautiful valentines day tradition. You are the first person I heard that does this kind of tradition. What a blessing. Have a Love-filled day with your family. That is so very important.
Thank you for sharing your family tradition with us. I like the way you include the entire family in this. Happy Valentine's day to your family from ours.
Beautiful!! I love traditions!! My family is planning to get together this Sunday. I'll use my pink dishes and glasses. (Guys hate it!!) But it really is fun!! THanks for sharing.
to see family traditions shared forward Laura! Very similar to how we celebrate the day. BD (before dogs) I would also leave a trail of Hershey's kisses down the stairs where the kids would get their Valentine's goodie bag with treats and their lunches have loves notes inside. Even the dogs get special Valentine's these days!
Thank you for sharing your family love. And those felt hearts are lovely. Have you seen the velvet ones? Mmmmmm......
we make our own cards etc.my husband is not a big cake eater so i make heart shapped pizza or heart shaped poached or fried egg depending what mood he is in at the time.we also do heart shapped sandwhiches for the kids if they have a sandwhich.little things like that.so similar to you, hope you have a great valentine day.
