Day 4 - Running!

Great day! I got my first real interval running session in since... well, in months! Yeah.. It felt really, really good. I didn't push too hard and I took frequent walking breaks, always making sure I could still hold on a conversation without gasping for air (that type of anaerobic work is useful, but I want to focus on aerobic running most days per week for now). I got a great workout from it, and an awesome runner's high.
Nutrition was also great today! I made a green Thai curry with brown jasmine rice... It was excellent. Coconut milk is such a delicious, creamy treat -- one that was desperately needed for someone who is trying to go dairy-free for a while. I've heard good things about coconut oil... Just have to watch the calories, since it is way too easy to overindulge.
Mentally, I am feeling good today. Focused. Healthy. Proud. I began using this cool little device to help me meditate, the "Emwave 2." I really like it! It shows your heart rate variance in realtime, and there are cool visualizations in the software which help focus my breathing and thus enter a state of higher coherence. I know it sounds really new-agey and weird, but it really seems to help with my anxiety. I think I will try using it at least 10 min a day and see how it works out.
New goal: watch less tv. I will try going for leisurely walks, reading a book, drawing, playing guitar, etc. more and limit my tv and movie watching to no more than 2 hours per day.
