A ray of light????

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

Well yesterday's visit with my nutritionist was anything but good. It left me down in the dumps & when my DH asked what was wrong, well lets just say the waterworks started & I went to bed with puffy eyes. I was so frustrated & couldn't see how I could get a handle on the BS problem & then to have to cut carbs from my supper meal.

But today, I made an appointment for a 2nd opinion with my DH's cousin who is a registered dietician. I meet with her tomrrow & am praying for some answers, for one --some ideas of what I can eat, some sample meal ideas would be awesome.

Wish me the best. emoticon

So sorry for the continuing bad reports. I think it is awesome that you are seeing a nutritionist because I am sure he can provide you with many options and that you will find something that works for you. I do not understand why your doctor hasn't suggested this to you and/or given you suggestions. Praying this provides the answers you are seeking! emoticon emoticon

Hope the second opinion helps and you are able to get a general idea of what to eat- or even a list of what to avoid so that you know most other things are ok.
When my BF was on blood thinner he couldn't have vitamin k, they gave us a list of what foods contained vitamin k and how rich the foods were. I worked around that.
Perhaps SparkPeople has a team for folks with special dietary needs similar to yours that would be helpful- have you checked that out? They have so much, it's hard to know what is offered and what isn't without searching for it. If not, maybe you could start one?!
I sure hope things work out for the best. Stay positive. You will get through this and continue to be successful at meeting your goals!

emoticon you were so upset after your visit with the nutritionist the other day and that you are having such a hard time getting a handle on your BS. I'm glad to hear though, that you are getting a 2nd opinion! I think your nutritionist is being a bit unreasonable and that she didn't give you any ideas of what you should or shouldn't eat for supper I think makes her seem like she doesn't know what she's talking about. I really hope your DH's cousin can help you out and give you some more information as well as ideas on what you could eat for supper. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that your visit goes well with your DH's cousin!!

Hi! Sorry you are having BS problems. A second opinion, especially with someone you know may help. I agree- even Drs tell you to do this and that with your diet, then no lists or examples of what. I sure hope you get more info. Hang in there! emoticon
