I told some of you that I was going to post a video of the music I have been restoring. And I will
however the battery on the sony cam doest last long enough to record it the way it is written. so I took the video with my phone. now I have to figure out how to get it off of my phone.
Well it it isn't a very good performance or recording. I skipped all of the repeats and played each passage only once then followed the coda back to the second passage .
It is good enough so that you will get an idea o what the dance is going to sound like after a couple weeks of practice. And it was a really cool confidence builder for me to scan a piece of almost completely obliterated music into my computer. Then enlarge it and darken pixels enough to tell what might have been there. and finally
fill in what I believe were the missing pieces.
Most of the music could probably be researched because in the end I could make out the publisher and date . However the final lines before the coda were hand written and added to the music in the 1940's to coincide with specific dance steps.
they were clearly in danger of being lost in history except for the vague outline of the music an accordion player that remembered hearing it when she was a little girl and me----yes I fell good for a change
I forgot to bring the file with me to this wireless spot so I will try to remember to post a section of before and after with the video
