My Sister's Blog ~ Lesson On Facing Storms

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

These pictures are from outside My Sister's house in the Panhandle of Oklahoma. As some of you might know she is a Grade School Teacher. I am posting Her FaceBook Status here because we can ALL learn a Lesson from the Little Girl that she calls "My Teacher".

From Maxynne Marr's FaceBook Page:
"This morning I was on Door Duty, greeting the Children as they arrived at school and running the door for them. Most of the people who came in -- Students, Teachers, and Parents -- were huddled against the cold. Most were grimacing and I think every one of them grumbled some kind of Moan or Sigh as they came in.

Then My Teacher came in. She is in Kindergarten, blond haired, blue eyed, and GORGEOUS {for the record, My Sister says ALL her Kids are GORGEOUS! LJCANNON}. As she came up the sidewalk she had her head fully back, face straight up, both arms fully extended out to her sides, and she had her tongue stretched out as far as it could possibly reach. She was doing her best to catch EVERY Snowflake she passed. How she managed it in her position I'll never know, but she was HUMMING!!

I post these Pictures in her honor, and as a Thank You for the Lesson She Taught ME in that second. I pray that I will never forget her gentle reminder to face ALL of my storms Facing the Heavens and Singing with My Arms Outstretched.

Love this story! It is such a good metaphor for how we should live our lives. Not always easy but think of the joy the 'little teacher' spread that day! We could do the same. Love the pictures too! emoticon

How sweet :) I always enjoy the first snowfall of the season, especially walking on an unblemished carpet of soft snow. It can be gorgeous, with the light catching it and shining it like a million diamonds sparkling!
Always nourish the inner child of wonderment. You live a much happier, more relaxed life..
