Could the ground hog be right?

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

The sun is bright and beautiful. Temp gauge says it's near 60 but the wind is cold blowing in off the snow in the mountains surrounding us. So I ventured outside and did some clean up in the garden and cleared a few fallen limbs in the back yard. . . .but ya can't even tell it.

Crocus, daffodils and hyacinths are sending up their antenna no doubt hoping for a good report as well! Leaf buds are daring to show on the lilacs and quince. I'm hoping Spring is on it's way.

Healthwise, I'm still maintaining. Recycling more baggy jeans!!! Wooohooo!

How's it going at your end of the mouse?

General Beauregard Lee said we have 6 more weeks of winter. Unfortunately he has a pretty good track record

The weather in New Mexico is shifting - warmer last week, snow in the mountains this week. Windy all around (typical for the season)

My mouse is telling me that I better be patient because winter is not done with us yet. But it was nice to get some rain and wet snow so there is hope for the spring flowers and the garden to come. Enjoy! HUGS!

the sun was out today, bright still cool, but my DH and I spent quite a bit of time outside today, so much to do he trimmed grape vines, and I just dug weeds and pulled, trimmed a bit, I am ready for Spring

On the other side of the continent we got hit with some snow - my neck of the woods got a little over a foot, which wasn't bad compared to what others got. Just enough to give the arms a good workout!

In March we have a contest to see who spots the first "REAL" robin of spring - not the ones that find a place to hole up and find food in sheltered areas, but real-for-real migrants who come back, usually near St. Patrick's Day. When one is espied, the announcement is made and we celebrate with pizza. With lots of veggies.

We had a rainy start to the day in Texas this morning. It's only 48 outside today, but I won't complain. This winter has been pretty mild. The only snow we have seen was on Christmas Day and it only stuck around for a day. We haven't seen that many cold weather days. Here lately it's been in the 60's and 70's (I've gotten kind of spoiled!).

Just think, we will be turning the clocks ahead in about a month...

Stay warm emoticon
