Ahhh it's so hard to not eat!

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

I'm trying to do my best to fill my body with fruits and veggies in order to not fill up on carbs, and I also prefer not to eat a lot of meats. I know it's good for me but I don't know that it's necessary to eat meat everyday. I need to find other ways to get my protein with out feeling like i'm over doing it on calorie intake. It is so hard not to be tempted by all the bad food when you see commercials, billboards, and people eating etc.... Some suggestions please!

I am the same way, I cater and my family is at my house almost every weekend so we kind of do it up big sometimes and it is so hard not to eat things I shouldn't, well I won't say what I shouldn't, but not so much of it. And motivation is my biggest challenge. HELP emoticon

Thanks all those ideas are grand and I can't wait to try the only worry is I don't always have the time to cook....I wonder how well somethings freeze to save for later. Well I guess I'll figure it out. It's only been a few days but it's getting easier for sure already and I actually enjoy the food i'm eating.

My hobby has always been eating; however I am learning a healthier way. So glad you came to sparks; here you will find endless rescources, lots of new spark friends to share ideas with and get plenty of motivation.

Be sure to drink 8 glasses of water a day. Honestly it helps to lose and you will get use to it. I try to drink 2 cups before I eat meals.

Have you been to My Recipes yet? There is a wonderful 3Bean Taco Soup" that is very satisfying. It makes a lot; and you can freeze some of it. Have you tried the T
"Tuna Salad Lo Cal". It is super!

Best of luck! Hang in there! YOu can do it!

Remember to log in everything you eat. Have some type of protein with each meal so it helps to keep you full. You will need to have some type of carbs to help the body function, just choose the good ones

Then eat. Breakfast of 3/4 cup of egg beaters made into an omlett filled with 1 cup of green giant cheesy brocolli is filling, yet not bad on calories.

Cuties are in season and 40 calories each. I eat my fill of them.

Green smoothie for lunch, yum.

Dinner 4 cups of spinach, hemp hearts, 1 bell pepper chopped up, 1/2 cup chickpeas, 1 cucumber, top with lemon juice is filling.

Apple slices sprinkled with cinnamon for desert, baked or fresh. Yum.

It just depends on changing higher calorie foods for volume filling, lower calorie foods.

Hopefully this will give you ideas. Until I discovered this I was hungry. emoticon

I have been enjoying chili; bean with bacon soup (good on fiber too); but I am with you --the commercials certainly do make things appealing --- and none of people indulging in those tasty treats on tv or bill boards ever looks like they have a weight problem.... don't get it.

I do not struggle with the protien as much as I do the fiber. The Special K protein shakes work well for me for protien and are not too bad tasting.

Keep up the good work!

Hang in there! It IS hard to keep up with all the fruits and vegies, so try looking at different ways to get fruit like mixing up kiwi (great Vit. C) and another one you love. Make smoothies? Try nuts and trail mixes for protein? Chili with vegies and beans? These are some that come to mind. If you make up a batch of your favorite bean/salad/chili possibly you'll have a quick snack ready for you in the frig?

Hope this helps. I know how you feel!
