2 week back break

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

From Work that is! Not that it is a good thing because we all need our pay checks. I was trying to work through the back pain until I saw my surgeon again, but was advised to get back in to the chiropractor. He wants me off work for two weeks to rest my back. I do have to move computers and monitors, but I had asked for help with the heavier ones lately. I think looking back at things I should have probably taken a little more time off work after the back surgery to allow proper healing. My mind always thinks that work won't be such a strain. In reality it probably is.

The doctor ordered walking so I did go to the mall today. I have an eye appointment tomorrow near the mall so I plan on going again tomorrow. The weather is fair enough, but still quite slushy along the curbs so inside might be my best bet for walking right now.

Rest, I can do this!

Ugh! Sorry to hear...there's something about a paycheck that pushes us all too often in ways that aren't helpful.

Take care of yourself, heal & be well! :-)

Sorry to hear about the back pain, that is something that is hard to deal with, I know, I have it too, intermittently.

Sorry to hear about the pain - I've certainly had my share over the years, too! I've recently discovered a 'magic cream' called Topricin that does help a lot so it might help you, too, in addition to everything else you're doing to heal. It's sold at stores like Sprouts and other places that carry homeopathic remedies, also via Amazon - either way, hope you are feeling better soon!

Those backs are tricky. I went yesterday for a massage and had her put the kinesio tape on my lower back. My Mom always said just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Quit lifting anything heavier than a laptop computer, you are more important. People that do not have back problems usually don't mind helping, if they know your back is an issue. Hope you are better soon.

Sometimes it's hard to take it easy as long as we should because we feel so much better than we have in a long time. Take care and let your back heal. emoticon

It does pay to listen to what your body tells you. I hope all goes well. Walking will be the best exercise you can do. emoticon

Take it easy with that back. I have had surgery on mine twice...the second because I overdid it too! Hope it heals quickly now with the rest!

I had neck surgery for two bulging discs in 2002 and regret not taking more time from work to heal and go through physical therapy. Fortunately, I did not have a job where lifting was required, just sitting at a desk/computer for nine hours a day. That takes it's toll - my posture isn't the best.

I hope two weeks of rest and walking to exercise the muscles in your back will help you heal properly. You don't want to have to do the surgery over again! Take care and feel better soon.
