So, back from the doctor.. and not really want I expected at all. Apparently, I have osteoarthritis. At 28. Not what an aspiring runner wants to hear.. or anyone for that matter. It is pretty uncommon to have this happen without prior injury and at an early age so I'm being referred to a specialist to find out what's happening because apparently my knee is not the only place where it's happening, it is just the first place I noticed it. I also have to get a bunch of blood work done to see if there is another underlying cause.
What does all this equal? A whole bunch of unknown... in where I don't really think I WANT to know.
Better I caught it before it was too bad though.. right? Although, from my understanding, it is pretty much out of my control at this point.. and depending on the cause and how bad it is, I probably won't be allowed to run..
Time to get myself educated while I wait for the specialist..
If any of you have information or are dealing with this, information is more than welcome.
