The past couple of days it has been -5 and it has been such a nice break. It was ridiculously cold for the past month and it's so nice to run outside again! I am still doing my short runs twice a week on the treadmill at lunch because it is just a lot easier to fit it in that way, but it is really nice to be able to take the pup out for the long runs. I am up to 4 mile long runs, and about 10 miles a week. Definitely getting there!
My dad and I signed up for the half marathon in May a while back, and now Tommy (my husband) and my brother signed up this week. Super exciting! I am training super hard partially because I know Tommy is training not at all or really half assed. haha. I know that him being a former athlete
, it really doesn't take much time and he gets super quick again, but has never run further than 10km. I am really hoping that the distance slows him down a bit and I can stay ahead of him! haha.
Also very much in my favor that I am in the first wave, starting 30 minutes before he does haha. If he does beat me I will be ok with that too, I am already exceeding my expectations for myself which is a nice enough gift!
A quick 2 miler at lunch then I can dive into the delicious spinach salad I brought....
