I think my epic battle with the snow is over. I will know for sure when I get home tonight. I'm sort of bummed that the calories burned haven't shown up on the scale. Maybe they'll show up in a few days. Over the 3-day battle I burned 4,150 calories cleaning snow according to my heart rate monitor and SP fitness tracker. I kept to my original 1400 calories on Saturday (2000 calories burned) and ate 1650 on Sunday and Monday (1350 cal burned Sunday and 800 burned yesterday). Yesterday I also did Ripped in 30 week 4, another 375 calories torched.
I was sort of expecting a good drop on the scale since I weighed in on Friday, I got a .2 drop this morning. Hopefully, something big happens later this week. If not, oh well. I know I got the workouts in and it was the first time in a few years that I was able to clean my 90 x 12 ft driveway, 8x8 ft back patio, 50 x3 ft sidewalk and 14 steps all by myself. And I didn't even feel like I was about to die the majority of the time! I was beat up but not panting and I didn't quit. My arms and knees are paying for it though.
In NSV land, I think the exercise habit has really stuck this time around. I woke up an hour early to make sure I got my workout in today, yes an hour earlier than my 5:00 or 5:20 a.m. routine, so yep 4:10 this morning. I was headed back to the office today and knew the road would be bad so I needed an extra 30-45 mins for my commute. It actually took an extra hour but who's counting?
When you've had a hard workout week, when do you usually see the results?
Guess what nasty surprise was waiting for me at home tonight? Yep, you guessed it, the darn plow can back and blocked the driveway again! Had to shovel it out before I could get in. Okay, now I;m really sick of this.
