4,000 snow calories later, nothing on scale

I think my epic battle with the snow is over. I will know for sure when I get home tonight. I'm sort of bummed that the calories burned haven't shown up on the scale. Maybe they'll show up in a few days. Over the 3-day battle I burned 4,150 calories cleaning snow according to my heart rate monitor and SP fitness tracker. I kept to my original 1400 calories on Saturday (2000 calories burned) and ate 1650 on Sunday and Monday (1350 cal burned Sunday and 800 burned yesterday). Yesterday I also did Ripped in 30 week 4, another 375 calories torched.

I was sort of expecting a good drop on the scale since I weighed in on Friday, I got a .2 drop this morning. Hopefully, something big happens later this week. If not, oh well. I know I got the workouts in and it was the first time in a few years that I was able to clean my 90 x 12 ft driveway, 8x8 ft back patio, 50 x3 ft sidewalk and 14 steps all by myself. And I didn't even feel like I was about to die the majority of the time! I was beat up but not panting and I didn't quit. My arms and knees are paying for it though.

In NSV land, I think the exercise habit has really stuck this time around. I woke up an hour early to make sure I got my workout in today, yes an hour earlier than my 5:00 or 5:20 a.m. routine, so yep 4:10 this morning. I was headed back to the office today and knew the road would be bad so I needed an extra 30-45 mins for my commute. It actually took an extra hour but who's counting?

When you've had a hard workout week, when do you usually see the results?

UPDATE
Guess what nasty surprise was waiting for me at home tonight? Yep, you guessed it, the darn plow can back and blocked the driveway again! Had to shovel it out before I could get in. Okay, now I;m really sick of this.

    You won the fight with the snow (and the snow plow). I'm sure the scale will fall too....in a couple of days.

    That's alot of calories - emoticon ! I agree with previous poster that your body is probably in shock and holding on to what it can. Hope we are both wrong, and you see the drop in numbers you're hoping for! emoticon

    4,000 calories burned is a LOT, especially if it's different than your normal exercise routine. Your body may just be a little bit shocked and may be holding onto what it can. I know when I upped my calorie burn to 2000 a week last week, SP told me I needed to eat 1800-2000 calories a week to compensate, so you've got a big deficit running there.

I think you'll see it, but it may be a few days or even next week before you do. Your body may be holding on to some water to help those muscles recover. It's taken a week for me before. Get plenty of water in, watch the extra sodium, and some extra rest or sleep over the next few days should help with the numbers on the scale.
