I am stickler about not wasting food. We are so privileged in America and I actually feel guilty about having so much food that I can afford to throw bread heels away. I purchased a large carton of egg whites at the beginning of this food cycle and I made up my mind I was not going to waste those suckers. Last night I made a beautiful quiche. I threw in everything I had left in the fridge: sweet peppers, bell peppers, onions, cheese, real bacon bits and spinach. My house smelled delish. It did take longer to cook than I expected. I was extremely pleased with the result this morning.
I also tried something new yesterday - carob. I purchased carob bits for a protein shake, but I just can't do the protein shake. It is too heavy. Does that make sense? Any way, carob is lovely and very healthy for you. So I would highly recommend this to you chocolate lovers out there. Warning, it is very rich. Just a few little chips will do. Just savor them one by one.
Busy, busy day today
I am not going to get my workout in due to the lovely rain and band practice, plus I have to make a flying trip to the city to find monkeys . . . I am going to let you guys think about that one until tomorrow
