Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail (@ Least This Goes For Me)

Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail! This quote is so applicable to my life!

Usually, I'm a planner who tries to stay well-organized. For instance, if I'm planning a gathering or some sort of get together, I plan weeks in advance. However, I really need to start planning my day-to-day activities. For example, for the past 2 days, I have been waiting until the next day to get my lunch together, to pick out and iron my clothes, etc. This morning, I have left the house without my earrings, which makes me feel naked! I always have my earrings on! Ugh! This does not work at all. I either end up forgetting something or late to work. Also today, I made my lunch, which is a salad along with my snacks. But, I forgot my 3-oz. chicken and usually it's the salad dressing I end up forgetting. I'm not a vegetarian (I love meat too much). I need my meat! LOL! Thank God where I work has a cafeteria and I can get some meat.

Starting tonight, I will plan for tomorrow. I may only wear scrubs on Monday through Thursday, but those scrubs need to be ironed. I already know what scrubs I'm wearing tomorrow. So, I will be ironing them after my shower. I already have my meal plan made out. So, I will get my lunch and snacks together after I iron my clothes. One of my goals is to start making a plan for the next day at least 1 hour before going to bed.

So I will organize in order for me not to agonize! emoticon

Like I said in yesterday's blog, why put off something for tomorrow that I can do today! Well, that's it, I'm getting more organized, because if I fail to plan, plan to fail!

You are so right! I find that I am better able to stay on track if I have spent a few minutes the night before figuring out my plans for the day. You are definitely on the right track. I am right there with you trying to make it a permanent habit!

I have a program that has a calendar and a journal. My whole life goes in there - from the moment I wake up to the time I need to go to sleep. I leave 30 minutes before going to bed to plan for the next day. My clothes are pulled out, my jewelry and makeup is picked out - even my workout outfit is pulled out for the next day. It helps so much. I would be lost without doing it all.

I agree that planning is key. For me to really eat well, I usually plan out a general menu for the week on Saturday or Sunday then do my shopping. Next, I pre-chop and pre-portion as much as possible. Then, I cook two healthy recipes I can eat throughout the week. This helps me so much - especially on the days when I am really tired after work. Good for you for having a new plan - you can do it!
