    Thanks for sharing. My church sponsors a community concert series. They begin every performance with a slide show like this. When they get to Lee Greenwood's song, Proud to be an American, everyone stands and sings along. The first time I experienced that, I wondered if we had changed our national anthem. I've decided that everyone in that audience just want to say thanks for all the service men and women do in the face of so much peril, when their families are left behind. The performers at the last 2 shows have ended with the Armed Forces Medley. While the audience is generally the OLDER generation, the number of veterans standing for each branch is dwindling. In a way, I hope and pray that's a good thing.

    Both my dad & father in law were in the Army, my DH is a Army disabled veteran, brother was in the Navy & DS was in the Army. But the only two who fought in a foreign war was my dad & my DH. emoticon

    I am very proud, and give a LOT of thanks to all of them.......and everyone who is or has been in the military. HooRaah!!! emoticon
