It's nice to see everyone so motivated lately! When everyone is back and all excited about losing weight again, makes me motivated as well to do better. One thing I wish I could get more into lately is cooking. Maybe it's the off season and nothing exciting is growing. Usually I made most of cooking around a veggie. One thing we have changed up is, we have a meat shop about 3 minutes from our house. We have been utilizing that a lot and paying about the same as the grocery store but the quality of the meat is so much better. Only thing is we used to eat a lot of fish and chicken. This place has some chicken and turkey but not much. Been eating more beef than usual. They have these monthly bundles but it's mostly pork and that's one thing I wont eat. But it's nice to support local business. They may have more poultry, I just gotta look around in there more.
We started about 1/3rd of our garden in the basement on Sunday. Most of the stuff I wanna try growing this yr needs to be started much later. This will be my 3rd year of having a garden. Seems like each yr it doubles in size. Last yr I started way too early and then we moved so most of my stuff stayed in pots way too long and were planted way too late, it was a bust. This yr I already have 1 raised bed and then we are gonna make 2 two more small gardens in other places in the yard for things that sprawl. Each yr is an experiment. Our starters in the basement under their lights.
Of course Josie had to come help by sitting the turtle cage and eating their food while I was planting my seeds.
Exercise continues to be good. I am back to water aerobics two days a week again. I just feel so much more relaxed and less tense when I go. Plus Scott makes dinner and has it ready when I come home hehe Been hitting the dance class 2-3 days a week. Then also doing the lifting class once a week for an hr. The past two weeks I have been so sore. One thing I have learned from having friends go with me. If you hate something in a lifting class, grab a dumbell and do an alternative for the same muscle. I think one of the reasons I hate those classes is that we do some tortuous things and I just dread it. Screw that, I am there for me, I am not there to be tortured. This is probably why I would never hit a bootcamp or get a trainer. If exercise isn't fun and something to look forward to, then it aint on my list of stuff to do, period. I am happy that works for some, but not this girl. Exercise empowers me, it doesn't kick the crap out of me leave me for dead.
I feel like my eating is better again finally. I managed to get my weight up to 167 over the weekend. Now I am slowly deflating. I was 163.8 this morning. Amazing how I can raise my weight 7 lbs in 2 days, yet getting that back off takes takes a week, even if it wasnt actually 7 lbs. Whole bag of popcorn is getting me thru at night lol You know whats funny, they advertise 100 calorie small bags of popcorn. But if you get light butter, you can eat a whole bag for 120 calories. Or I have been getting this white cheddar one, whole bag is 150 calories. Then of course I must share with my dogs.
