need some help and advise

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

My mom has asked me to come up with some sort of exercises to help my sister deal with her stress and pms time. She's disabled but has a wii system that she's got a just dance game for. I'm new at this so id appreciate the input. Thanks!

I would recommend the Wii Fit games as well .. the balance board is a lot of fun and my whole family likes doing it together. There's a huge variety on there so she should be able to find something she likes. I would suggest that you check on eBay or something similar to find an older one versus paying full price for a brand new one in case it doesn't work out.

It's hard to make suggestions without knowing more about your sister's abilities and interests but anything that gets her heart rate up would be beneficial. Make sure to browse the SP videos, too. There's some great ones in there for any level!

is she able to stand or would seated exercise be better? if you google for "seated exercise videos you will find some good dvds. one is by a lady with MS--i bought it for my parents and they really like it. there is also the "sit and be fit" series. let me know if you want more info.

Wii fit and wii dance games are a lot of fun and do provide exercise.
Just going for walks as a family can also help get some exercise in. Make it something to do after dinner every night.
Are there any sports for disabled in your community? Sometimes getting them involved with others in the same situation can help as well.
