In my multi-generational household, marketing and cooking mainly falls to me. Household includes my dad (89), my niece (39) and her son (2). Needless to say there are a lot of varied food likes and dislikes.
Niece and her son are carnivores. Dad and I are fishy vegetarians with a decided taste for tofu. While I cook a fair amount from scratch, I always have "stuff" in the freezer that I can fall back on should I need something already prepared. We've been trying various different frozen fish items -- most simply too much breading, not enough fish, or worse yet, not a fillet but, some sort of fish mash. Did find one, Groton's Tilapia Fillets -- actually palatable. But, as the niece said -- "It's better than the other but, not as good as home-made". So, I'm defrosting a little Alaskan cod and tomorrow, will flour, egg and bread my way into the home-made fish dinner. Add a fresh green veggie and some sort of potato -- sounds like dinner to me.
