I finally purchased a pair of good running shoes. I bought the New Balance 750v1's and OMG they feel like heaven on my feet. I ran 3.1 miles on my treadmill yesterday and my feet didn't hurt at all. It was wonderful! Now I just need to invest in a new knee brace and I will be good to go!!
And yes, I ran 3.1 miles. I wanted to get my starting 5k time before I do my first 5k in July. My goal is to do it in under 30 minutes. Yesterday, I finished in 40:58. I clearly have a lot of work to do...but I didn't think it was that bad because I have NEVER been a runner. But, I love doing it!
I think I am going to try the couch to 5k program for training. It seems like a good program to give me a structured schedule.
I haven't weighed in in awhile. I honestly don't want to see the number because I know its up. I've still been having issues with the suspected ovarian cyst and it's causing a lot of bloating/abdominal swelling. This week has been better, I've been drinking more water, and just trying to work on portion control. I plan to weigh in again next Wednesday to see where I am at.
