I've been sick since last week but am finally feeling on the road to recovery!

Came home from work Tuesday and today was my first day back. After lunch on Tuesday I couldn't keep food or even liquids in me until Friday evening. bleck!!! On top of that I got a chest cold at the same time..or maybe it's a combo that is going around right now. I don't know and guess it doesn't really matter..either way I have it. But like I said I'm on the road to recovery. Still struggling to breathe and coughing but hopefully that'll be gone soon.

Needless to say my last workout was last Monday. I did go to class tonight but I took it extremely easy. Really missed my workouts and the girl time we get while chatting and walking. lol Only walked at 2.2 on the treadmill and did all the strength stations will sitting on the ball. I really didn't want to go to class cause I'm so tired and struggling to breathe so am proud of myself for going.

The 3k walk I've signed up for is 2 weeks from yesterday. I was feeling pretty confident about it (although still nervous and worried cause I'm a worry wart and have never done anything like this) so am a bit concerned about how this illness is going to set me back. I'm going to have to work hard so that I am still ready to kick 3k butt!!

I'm finally going to the running store Friday to get fitted for a new pair of workout shoes. I'm so excited!! I'm really hoping that will help with the pain in my feet.

Got the okay from the dr for a total hysterectomy. I'm thrilled about it! I've met my deductible so if I was going to do it this is the year to do it. I'm not looking forward to surgery of course but am looking forward to being free of the pain, bleeding all month and the lovely side effects. It's a fairly new procedure which uses a robotic arm, 4 small incisions and pulls the ovaries, etc. through the vagina. Using this it's a much quicker recovery. Dr said I can go back to walking as soon as I feel up to it which he thinks will be 2 weeks, max. Of course will have to work back up to incline and speed but that's good. It's actually scheduled for 3 days after my 41st birthday so guess it's my birthday present to myself! lol

Good luck on your surgery. I hope all goes well. Good luck with your 3k, and don't get down on yourself for only doing a 2.2 on the treadmill - I only do a 2.0 every time! I used to be able to walk a 3.0 years ago, but I need to rebuild up my stamina.

Wow! Lots going on for you the last couple weeks. I've missed you. I'm happy to read you are feeling better. Enough to work out. You have been doing an outstanding job with that. The surgery sounds very futuristic. Amazing what they can do now. Something like that would cause a 6 week recovery back when. Good luck with the 3K. I have faith in you. I understand the worry wart thing. I be one as well.
