Trudging to the Doctor's office

After getting 24" of snow dumped this weekend, mother nature gave us a mixed bag of warmer temperatures and rain today. There was melting. There was sloshing. There was street flooding because some cities/towns had not managed to remove snow from all the storm drains. It was fun. Not really.
However, I had an appointment for my yearly exam. It was somewhat over due. I switched doctors and it takes months to get an appointment for a well visit. I'm okay with that. My former doctor had a habit of not giving me calls or any sort of follow up when I had tests done. I would call, the receptionist would pass the message, he would call at home and not the work number I am at during the day, and we'd play phone tag until I quit. This was why I left. So needless to say, when I dropped off my check for the files for both my husband and I to be transferred, I called to make sure they got there. I was told they did. However, today, they couldn't find them, so I get to do it again. Ugh.
My blood pressure is up to what used to be normal 120/80. Apparently somewhere along the line, research was done and people with that number are 100% going to end up with high blood pressure. Cool. At least I know what to expect.
I'll be doing fasting bloodwork and so forth sometime before my follow up appointment in May. The good news, because really, I'm grasping today, is that if I was going by the scale at the doctor's office, I dropped 4 pounds today. I'm not using it for a measurement. I use the same scale, the same day of the week, at roughly the same time of day, wearing clothes that are similar in weight. Still, it felt good to see it drop under 130.
Tomorrow is another day. We'll find out how much it will take to resurrect the car that died this afternoon. I'll start week 4 of the C25K training. And the kids will be back at school after a 4 day weekend. Life is good.
