Killer workout

This morning I drag my butt outta bed & go to class. I walk in & they have the steps with 4 add-ons under (I don't know what the official name is, but it's used in step aerobics) & a mat beside the steps set up. Interesting...I wonder what's planned today.

Teacher begins writing our program on the mirrors (which nobody could see) & says we're gonna be doing the pyramid workout. Oh no!! I just talked with a friend of mine on this style & she said it's HARD. Yikes.

If you've never heard of the pyramid workout it's this & I'll use todays workout as an example. We had 13 activities to do....So we started with #1 - 1 single leg squat (per leg) then we did 1 again & moved on to #2 - 2 burpees with push up..go back & do #1 & #2 again then do #3 - 3 squat jumps etc, ect, ect.

So we begin. It was easy at first..then not so much. I struggled with the box jumps. It was my first time doing those & yeah...not a fan!!! lol. I started getting nervous as I'm slower & was worried I'd be the last one working out, with everyone watching me. BIG FEAR!! Somehow thou I finished before a few girls. WooHoo!!

Then I found out why! I missed #12. Oh crap. I have a whole circuit to complete & now for sure I'll be last. Had I not missed #12 & not stood around for a few minutes, thinking I was done, I'd be almost done. Part way though I thought 'who cares if everyone is done & watching. I WILL NOT stop till I'm done. Everyone can stretch & I'll stretch on my own.' When I got to #9 - 9 Up Downs I notice everyones equipment is put away. Whatever I WILL NOT stop. I start #10 - 10 Skaters & a girls comes over & said 'skaters...alright let's bang this out' & then another girl came over & the 2 girls worked with me till I finished. It was nice of them & I was happy to have company finishing.

Tonight after work I'm going to go for a run with a friend who wants to get back into running. I think she'll only run 3 or 4kms & I'll finish the rest after to make 6km.

Oh Yeah!! In case your wondering...the rude girl was back today. But she was nicer.

    You can run 6km. Ah, I can't wait until I can work up to running 3km. Okay to be honest I can't wait until I can run 1 MILE. :( I like running, I am not very GOOD at it. But, then I just stated a month ago, so I shouldn't be too hard on myself.

That workout sounds seriously killer. I don't know if I could do the box jumps. Is that when you have to jump REALLY high onto a box. That move scares me. I am a big whimp when it comes to heights.

That was nice of the girls to finish with you!

    Wow! You are amazing! I cannot do burpees, let alone on a step pyramid. I will have to try some of those moves on my son's equipment.

    Oh Boy Ms. Butterfly - that workout does sound killer...the coordination of doing all of those activities alone seems tough BUT I bet keeps your body guessing which is great stuff for your fitness!

AND I cannot believe after all that, you went running too! I must say - you are ROCKING these workouts!!

    Wow, I have to give you a LOT of credit! Can't say I would have gone back and done the #12 circuit; I probably would have just stood around drinking water hoping no one noticed I short-changed the workout! emoticon

Glad those 2 women finished up with you -- what an awesome thing to do! And also glad the rude girl was nicer. Apparently she's learned something about not judging based on size alone. emoticon
