Surgery Day

Monday, February 11, 2013

I had to be up this morning at 3:45 am to take some medicine to prep for minor surgery today. I did not sleep we'll at all last night due to the heavy rain we had. My Chihuahua freaks out and hyperventilates. His wining kept me awake. I should have given him some medicine before I went to bed.
My surgery is over and I am not feeling too bad. I came home and slept good until the phone rang. I forgot to turn the volume off!!! I am just going hang out on the couch for the rest of the day and catch-up on some dvr'd shows.
I should be back out walking by Wednesday and slowing building back up my exercise program. I will be having a total hysterectomy on March 11th and the recovery will be 4-6 weeks.
I will not let this be a set back to my healthy lifestyle and weight-loss. I will obey the doctors orders. I will pre plan healthy meals that my hubby can make for me.
This too shall pass!

Don't know what the minor surgery was, but having a major one after that can really throw you for a loop. Glad you're doing well with this one. Are you having robot-assisted surgery? I did. It was great and I thought my recovery went really well. Here's hoping you'll be able to keep to your healthy eating and exercise plan afterward. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't, so now I'm trying to start over AGAIN! emoticon

Glad DH is there to help, mine was, too. Take care.

Try A thunder shirt for your chihuahua. You can buy them on line. My dog is a rescue dog from Mexico and he looks like a steroidal chihuahua. he is definitely shakey Quakey like a chihuahua. You swaddle a baby for comfort. The thunder shirt is a compression shirt which has the same comforting effect. I put it on for thunderstorms or fireworks. Just try to put it on BEFORE the storm etc begins so they don't come to associate it with the advent of bad things. My dog really seems to like it.
