Rough few days

Had a rough past couple of days...medical wise...but glad to say things are looking better...even had to go to the hospital one day..not fun. But God is good and the great healer!! I've lost some weight in the past few days..due to water pill the doc put me on, but I'll take the loss! I have found though that I'm getting muscle spasms. I ate a banana today and need to up my potassium intake! I have to look into what foods have the best source of it! It's raining here today and I'm stuck indoors, I really am wanting to get out and walk at the park!! It makes me happy to walk at our park! Maybe tomorrow will be clear. So this valentines day we're not going out to eat we're doing something better...our local art museum is having a special valentines night and it's even free. So we're going to that, I think it's the healthier option! I love going on dates with my hubby but so often it revolves around food. I need to find unfood related date ideas....anybody have any they like to do? My parents come in two weeks from tomorrow!! I'm so excited...have to finish cleaning though, got behind because of illness! That should give me a workout!! :-) Anyways, I hope that everybody is having a great day!!     Sorry you weren't feeling well! I like to window shop at the mall...lots of walking and conversation inspiration - just hang back from the food court - lol! Stay home, put on some nice music and make a healthy dinner together. Then watch a movie or play board games or cards...or anything to keep the conversation going. The museum sounds really nice - what a great idea!

    Glad things are looking up. I get the spasms, too. Being dehdrated is part of the reason. Maybe keeping a journal of personoal things like input/output would be wise. Sherry's comment was an eye-opener for me.

    We go on non-food related dates a lot. Museums are always a big hit for us, different parks. Once a month we pick something that we like to do, and do it at home. For example, I like to get creative, so one day we bought some painting supplies and painted two of our own canvases.. another month, my husband took me to a sport card show, because thats what he is really interested in.

    We also cook together a lot on the weekends. We find a recipe we both think we will enjoy, or sometimes a new food we havent tried, and we cook it together. J isnt that great of a cook, but he has improved greatly since experimenting in the kitchen.

    Hi-when your Doc has put you on a diuretic, it's important to check with him and see if he wants you on potassium he would prescribe. Your electrolytes can get seriously out of balance -my husband has ended up with both his sodium and potassium being depleted and ended up needing hospitalization. NO REASON that needs to happen if one is monitored properly. Please check with your doc rather than trying to supplement potassium by yourself since a diuretic is involved. Best wishes

    If you'd like to find something else non-food related, try GeoCaching with your husband. http://www.geocaching.com/ It's a world wide treasure hunt and you can do the ones as easy or as hard as you wish. They vary from hiding in parking lot bushes or lights to steep cliffs, I only go as far as the woods myself.

    Glad you're feeling better and found a really nice option for Valentine's Day. I'm a cheap date -- my husband will take me to the local library to spend some time reading magazines in their comfy chairs and then picking out our reads for the week ahead.
