Yesterday was my four year anniversary on Sparkpeople. It has been four years of ups and downs, literary. I lost within 16 pounds of my goal and then my husband got a job 1,700 miles from where we were living and my world turned upside down. I was left in Missouri for 3 months packing and getting our farm sold while he was in Washington. I had a lot to do and it got easier to just say I don't have time to get on line. I never completely left Sparkpeople but got out of the habit of tracking my food and getting on Sparkpeople was pretty sporadic. Now here it is 2 1/2 years later and I am back on here trying to lose the 29 pounds I gained back and the rest to reach my goal.
I am so glad that I found Sparkpeople! I have made some good friends on here and have even been fortunate enough to have met some of them in person. I am back and plan to stay this time. I am so thankful to my friends both old and new who have supported & encouraged me on here as I travel this journey to a healthier me!
I have left several times for a few months, but I always come back. Although I am happy with my body at this time, I could still afford to drop a few more pounds, but that is alright. I enjoy the support and people on Spark. WE are all working for the same things in the long run, a healthy lifestyle with a healthy body that is comfortable for us to live in.
Except for the move, this could be my story. I've made some wonderful friends who keep me here at Spark, but I've lost, regained, lost, and regained about 30 lbs since I joined. I'm back to the beginning and ready to recommit. The good news is that I'm not starting from scratch--I already know what I need to do.
You are not alone. I did something similar and I read, all of the time, about a member having to re-lose the weight they fought hard to lose. The thing is... You came back. That is what counts. You didn't give up on yourself or your dreams. This is where dreams DO come true.
Good Going! ... Look at all the mail and encouragement!!! How can we not do anything when there are so many behind us?!!? I think we're near each other geographically & will send a note. ... I, too, moved pretty rapidly three years ago and I'm just now getting back on track. It's not easy but we're moving!! Keep up the great work!
Happy Anniversary and way to go! I've just lost my FIRST 16 pounds, and feel great about it. I admire your perseverance to return and see your goal through to the finish. Good luck!
I understand so well. I had an identical gain when I was approximately 15 pounds from my goal. Now I'm also in the process of re-losing that weight and the last 15, too. Best wishes to you on pushing through to your end goal!
I'm a long timer too. For me, journaling everyday and playing a game or two is what keeps me on the straight and narrow. I vary up and down a lb. or two, but not much beyond that and I credit this site for helping me with the discipline to live healthy. I do exercises with Nicole and read encouraging blogs like yours.....Congratulations on your determination.....YOU WILL WIN!
Welcome Back!!! Happy Four Year Anniversary. SparkPeople is the WAY TO GO!!! You Can Do It. Enjoy the Journey. God Blessings To You and Everyone. Have a Happy Valentine's Day and a Wonderful Week. Take Care.
Welcome back. I'm thinking that's about how long I've been on SP. It's an everyday adventure with getting healthier. I know you can do this. Be determined and don't give up. You will reach your goals!
