Better place...

Monday, February 11, 2013

I'm in a better frame of mind today. Talked with a friend at church yesterday about how to support someone whose spouse is going through cancer. Nate just lost his wife Becky a little over a year ago. He gave me some great advice. So I am being proactive about my sister's support and have organized a schedule for each of the homies to check in with her a particular day of the week so she has someone calling every day. One of the things Nate said was most important for Becky was that she not see him breakdown a lot. For that reason he needed people to cry to regularly. I'm hoping this will provide that for my sister.

Still thinking of creative things I can do. But at least I'm doing something...

Went out for a beer with our bffs last night. OMG! That turned into a food nightmare. Went to the 'Bout Time Pub & Grub. Let's just say their food is anything but healthy! emoticon But it's been an intense two weeks and it was really good to get out. Even our son joined us.

Glad you're feeling better today. Even though you may have eaten more than you wanted, getting out was a good way to release some of the tension you've been experiencing these days few days. It's been really overwhelming. Glad you have someone (nate) you can turn to for advice.

I'm glad you've got support and advice about how to handle things. It's always so hard to know what to say and/or do. I'm still praying for you all.

Don't sweat the food. You have had a lot of stress lately. Log it and move forward. One day of bad eating won't hurt in the long run.

    Luv Ya!

I'm glad you found a source of relief in church, and I pray that the group is able to give comfort to your sister during a time when most needed.

Sounds like your friend at church was helpful. Nice to know you can go to others when you need advice isn't it? I would love to add our sister to my prayer list if that is okay with you and her.
