Thought and Prayer for Monday, February 11, 2013

Monday, February 11, 2013

We all need time to rest. Our bodies can only do so much. Our minds can only think for so long. When we push ourselves past the point of what we are capable of handling, our body tells us to slow down. God designed us for quiet time. He wants us to take time every day to sit quietly and meditate on His word. When we start our day with quiet time, the rest of our day will seem calmer. Time alone with God helps our day go so much better.

Mark 6:32 “So they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know You want us to live Your way and do what You call us to do but we can’t if we are too busy doing our own thing and going our own way. We know we need time with You so You can help us sort things out. We know we need time alone with You so You can guide us in the right direction. We know we need time alone with You so we can read Your word and You can reveal to us Your plan. Thank You, Lord, for our quiet time alone with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Quiet time alone with God is better than any time without Him.

When we take time to spend alone with God, He will speak to us through His word.

Going out of our way to spend quiet time with God will allow Him to better guide our steps each day.

Psalm 119:133 “Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.” (NLT)
