Fish fingers and custard!

Sunday, February 10, 2013

So, my daughter went to the house of a friend of mine today while I was at work. The girl she stayed with gave her a bag of ladyfingers (an Oriental cookie) but my daughter kept calling them fish fingers. So of course, all you whovians out there know what I thought of..

In other news, I'm not a vegetarian. But I've started trying things from the Morning Star line. I got their veggie breakfast sausages (which I'm not fond of, will try the patties next time), their veggie meatballs (dinner tomorrow night possibly) and their spicy black bean patties. Oh my goodness. The black bean burger was AMAZING. Even my daughter loved it. Then again, she's not a picky eater. But anyway. Yea. I've never had a veggie burger before, but WOW I was pleasantly surprised! They have all kinds if stuff that I want to try. Even corn dogs and riblets! I want to buy one box of each! But that would get a bit costly. I mean, like I said, I'm not a vegetarian. But I rarely eat red meat. I stick to chicken and fish. But the veggie stuff has less calories and fat while still giving pretty good protein. Plus its not too bad tasting. A bit costly, but seems worth it.

Also.. tomorrow is weigh in day. Its also the start of week 3 of the BL workout DVD that I'm doing. Which means another 10 minute segment will be added on to the 30 min segment that I currently do. I've definitely gotten stronger in the first 2 weeks, so I'm excited to see what the next 2 weeks bring. Will have to be super careful next week with Valentines day coming up. Probably will go to breakfast with the little one and my valentine (one of my best girl friends) so will have to chose my calories carefully. Splitting a meal with mini me is probably the easiest way. And then the chocolate... control woman. Must control. My sneak peek at the scale showed a great loss this week, I'm just hoping that my body cooperates and shows me a good number in the morning. Fingers crossed. Probably will head to bed soon cause I'm worn out for some reason.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

The morningstar riblets are kind of sweet and the texture is a little odd, but if you do not eat meat, they are a treat. I like to heat them, dice them up and toss them into veggie fried rice for a kind of bbq pork fried rice substitute.

One of the vegetarian brands (I think it might be morningstar) has a mushroom burger that is DELICIOUS. I am a firm meatatarian so for me to loooove it so much means a lot.

I eat the Morningstar riblets sometimes, quite tasty. Stinks up the microwave, though!
