No matter how many times we stumble

Sunday, February 10, 2013

This weekend hasn't been good for me. Saturday marked 4 years since my grandma lost her battle with colon cancer. I don't know how but it all still seems so fresh. The pain of losing her still feels like it was yesterday. I know it doesnt really get any easier. And its just going to take time to slowly move on but it seemed to hit me yesterday like a ton of bricks. I was depressed from the start of the day. I didn't make great eating chocies. I spent the day watching movies with my kids just soaking in the memories.

Despite the struggle this weekend, I know that I can't give up. I won't give up. Part of our BLC challenge this weekend was to post an inspiring or motivating quote in our chat thread. My fellow Cougars shared so many great quotes but one post really seemed to reach out to me today:

“So long as there is breath in me, that long I will persist. For now I know one of the greatest principles on success; if I persist long enough I will win.”~ Og Mandino

How true that is. No matter how long it takes us or how many road blocks we hit, we can't give up on ourselves. We are worth the hard work. We are worth making healthier eating choices and "sacrificing" alittle time each day to get our calorie burn in. So no matter what you have encountered, whether it be this weekend or 5 years ago, don't let that derail you from your goal. You are gonna have your good days and your bad days. Some days it may seem like you will never get there but don't give up! Focus on how far you have come already or (if you are like me) how great it felt when you lost all that weight. It's never a bad thing to want something for yourself. To have goals set for yourself.

emoticon So dust yourself off, recommit to your goals, forgive yourself for your set backs....and get moving! You will be living your dream before you know it! emoticon

This was great!! It also applies to our walk with Christ. We are so quick to condemn ourselves and others when they make mistakes, but we just need to dust ourselves off, get back up and keep going!!! Pray today is a MUCH better day!!!

emoticon emoticon I can relate to how you feel about your grandma's death. Not a day goes by that I don't miss or think about mine and she's been gone almost 2 years. Keep fighting, keep pushing. I'm always here to support you along and hold your hand when you wanna fall.

emoticon As long as you keep learning lessons and moving forward, you will come out on the other side of all of what is holding you back.
