Barrett's first stitches... :(
Sunday, February 10, 2013
So, within the last week I was talking to someone (can't remember who...) about how by the time my older two biological children were three, they had stitches near their mouth because of similarly falling at our kitchen table. Well, Barrett is now about three weeks away from three and he couldn't hold out...
Last evening my youngest fell in our TV room and cut his lip. His teeth went all the way through his lower lip, just below the pink area... So, off to the ER we went. He did very well throughout the wait - which was not too bad. They put him in a papoose - which he loved - until the doc started doing her thing... He ended up with three stitches on the outside of his mouth and one on the inside. He banged his upper jaw as well and we need to follow-up with a pediatric dentist to have his teeth checked out. He handled the work like a champ!
Today, his poor little lips are all puffy and he wants to eat but it hurts... But he's doing well. Hoping he doesn't scar and that his little teeth are ok (They seem to be secure and all looks good - just a double check!).
