Snow, Snow, and more Snow

Sunday, February 10, 2013

I received about thirty-four inches of snow. The elderly guy across the street is having medical issues but wont go to the doctors. Well, friday night he rang my door bell and asked me if I'd do his snow removal the next morning. Long story short it took me three hours to do his property. Then to my driveway to help the land-lord finish up. Another hour and a total of about 1300 calories burned. Here it is the next day and I am hurting something awful. This just proves to me how out of shape I am. It really bothers me because growing up I was always active, always outside, and had endurance to keep up with any activity or job to be done.

I can't wait to get healthy again and to be able to physically to anything I feel like doing.

Thank you all. Three days later and I'm still feeling it. I am now also thinking of getting the Wii Fit when I get my taxes back this week.

Glad to see you are getting active again. Shoveling just works different muscles in different ways. I'm sore too after shoveling for about 4 1/2 between yesterday and today. Just think since you are doing it now by the time Spring and Summer roll around any activities will be done at ease and you can enjoy them more. Perhaps a 100-mile bike ride finally. LOL

Take care and stay healthy

Yikes! I only got about 6" or so........sheesh, that Nemo was one nasty fella!

Make sure you get plenty of rest and downtime after all that snow work!

Stretching classes at the gym have helped me out tremendously. I am a lot more
flexible and it helps me do more cardio for endurance also without so much stiffness. You have to stay with it. If I ever miss a few days it is like starting over. I don't know why more people don't attend these classes since they seem to bypass them for others classes.

Hats off to you for helping your neighbor! You are a good person. Seriously...34" ?? Guess, I shouldn't complain for the 10" we got. God bless you!!

I understand how you feel about the health of yourself because I feel the same way about myself. Growing up I was a bigger girl but I still was very active with walking, swimming. Now that I have gotten older and with my back problems I cant do the walking as much as I would like too. I also cant wait to get healthy and physically fit. Good luck on your journey.
