Someone recommended that I read this post:
It made me cry, it encourage me to keep pushing, and it made me want to hug everyone. I work out at a gym with a bunch of undergrads. There's always a surge in the number of people at the gym right after Christmas, right before Spring Break, at the beginning of fall semester, etc. I've heard the regulars complain about this increased traffic. But let me just say, as I do to any friend who has these complaints, that everyone should be encouraged when the gym is packed to the gills! Sure, you may have to wait for your treadmill, but view it as an opportunity to change your routine, to try something new! I know that it's my responsibility to take care of myself, but I also know the rich value of having a support system. Not everyone is lucky enough to have such support, so shouldn't the gym be a place where people can be certain of peer support? Let's aim to make our gyms places to encourage and challenge each other.
