Simple restart with awareness and results wow!

I decided to gradually work myself back into my healthy lifestyle. I know what to do so I started the steps needed! I set my goals. Then I got sick which set me back a few days, but I have made a point to check in here on Sparks everyday! Then my hubby who is a truck driver got a run to Las Vegas and it coincided with my youngest daughter and grandson being able to meet us along the way for a visit. So of course I was going. We had a wonderful week but I hated that I wasn't starting my new workout program that I wanted. So I reminded myself baby steps and do what I could along the way. I ordered the Spark to read on my nook. Keeping my mind aware. (Great book so far by the way, don't know why I haven't read it before!)
We went on about a 2 mile hike while visiting with my daughter. I tried to stretch every time we stopped and did as much walking around as I could when we would stop. The biggest thing that I did was be aware. I was aware of what I was eating and the portions. Although I could have eaten healthier I did improve on what had been being. We got home and I expected the scale to show no change because although I did better and made some small changes it hadn't been anything very drastic. Boy was I surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning and I had lost 4.5 lbs!
WOOHOO moment and AH HA moment! Awareness is the first key to Results! Which I knew but had forgotten! So excited to be able to really work on getting healthy again! I know what mistakes I have made and am ready to move forward and forget those past mistakes but remember the lessons that I have learned from them!
Gonna do my first real workout tonight and I am really excited about it! Tomorrow I will be making a menu for the week and going to the grocery store to make it happen! One day at a time, one step at a time, one meal and workout at a time! This girl is gonna make this happen!
