The Day After - Snow Photos

Sunday, February 10, 2013

Hey, all ! I'll tell ya my glutes were screaming at me last night. I could barely move without wincing. Oddly enough, my back and shoulders while stiff, were okay. Feeling less achy this morning. I was going to go to the gym for some light cardiovascular exercise to help reduce some of the DOMs. The gym was closed. I wasn't surprized. The subway is still shut down. the roads are a mess and people are still digging out. So, I opted for a short walk around the neighborhood. Picked up a couple of items at the grocery store then headed home.

It's a beautiful day out. That's the one thing I really do love about a good storm i.e. the gorgeous day after. Here are some photos of my neighborhood.

Thought this was pretty.

The main roads are in decent shape. However, many side roads are a mess. I found this one that hadn't even been plowed once during the storm.

Do NOT try this at home ! This is a pile of snow between two cars. If you look at the bottom, you can see a hole where some child or children dug a tunnel. I'm sure it was fun, but boy is that dangerous.

And someone walked over this car thinking it was a pile of snow !

I know I did my fair share of shoveling, but I'm glad I didn't have to do this.

New Englanders get used to walking through tunnels this time of year.

That white stuff is so pretty! It looks very cold. And like it's a lot of work and really heavy to deal with it. Glad you were able to do something to fight the DOMS even with the gym closed!

BRRRRRRR. I remember those days up in Idaho. Can't say I miss them either. Looks good in pictures and fun to go out in for a few minutes, but I sure hated feeding cattle in it. LOL

Thank you so much for posting these pictures! It is very impressive (and a bit scary at the same time!). I love how gorgeous the snow looks under the blue sky though.
