BLC 17: WUB #3 The End of Another Week!

Sunday, February 10, 2013

Wow... I can't believe how the time flies!!

This week's challenges included-

Trying a new fruit emoticon

I tried Uniq fruit (also known as Ugli fruit). It looked like a nasty orange, but it tasted just fine. I didn't like it as much as an orange, however, so I won't be buying again (costs a lot more than oranges).

Trying a new veggie emoticon

I tried butternut squash. I used it as a replacement for the sweet potato fries that I regularly make. I had mixed feelings about it. It almost had a bitter taste to it, so I don't know if I got a bad squash or if it would be better cooking it a different way. I bought 2, so I'm going to give it a shot another way and see if I like it better. I felt like it had potential.

Learning about overtraining. emoticon

I read the articles on SP, which just reinforced what I already knew: I am definitely not overtraining!

Create a visual motivator and blog about it. emoticon

I took pictures of the two visual motivators that I have and posted them in a blog.

And last, but certainly not least, write a story about your background with weight loss and blog about it. emoticon

I did this, and was kind of surprised by the fact that several bad things just kind of poured out. There was some definite relief to come out and acknowledge how some of these things have affected my relationship with food, but I was also anxious about having posted it. However, I received amazing support from several wonderful SparkFriends and I truly appreciate them all!! emoticon

On to week 4 and being 1 week closer to my goals!!

  Great job this week!

Butternut squash... I like Chef Meg's vegetarian chili with butternut squash, but I warn you that it is more of a sweet veggie stew than a chili. Also, roasted can be good, but I find it tastes better roasted in large chunks than thin strips. I would just cut in half and roast with a smidge of oil and some spices.

Great job on week 3! I read your comment about ugli fruit out loud to my boyfriend- we thought it was pretty funny. Some of those "exotic" fruits are such a toss up whether they'll be disappointing or not... plus they are so pricey...
