Sunday stay indoors day

Sunday, February 10, 2013

The weather we were suppose to get came. I woke up to the sound of freezing rain this morning. Now it's snowing. It makes me glad that I don't feel the need to go anyplace on a Sunday. I'm hoping that either the state clears off the roads well or that the schools declare it two hours late tomorrow.

I have the greatest husband! Since I've been feeling sore, he's doing the laundry and dishes today. It's getting clean in here. I may not end up with a ton of steps today, but that's not unusual on a Sunday. I'll still end up making the bed and folding some laundry, but as long as I don't have to lift anything heavy, I should be ok today.

I know he thought about getting me the chocolates I pretty much demanded out of him for Valentine's day, but after forgetting at a couple of stores this week, he told me to just go out and get the box I wanted anyhow. So I did yesterday and I know where I hid it from myself. Now it's just the matter of waiting for Thursday to actually eat them... I did pick up the kids and hubby some candies too. I plan on little love notes all over his lunch on Thursday as well as the little peanut butter chocolate heart I got for it too.

As far as I'm concerned, just being with my husband this week is my present. emoticon

Our taxes are going to be back soon and I'm already looking at what I need to (want to) get this year. My son really needs more room in his room, so I plan on getting a loft bed with a desk so he can do his homework in a place that's quiet and without as many distractions at the kitchen table. So that's the big plan this year. I need to manage a metal one so I can put it against the heat element that goes around two sides of his room. I've seen a couple of them and I need it to be able to be assembled in his room, I am not going to try to drag a fully assembled one up two flights of stairs, that's a job for young boys, I am not one of them... He just doesn't have the room right now to play well the way his current bed sits, a loft bed should help with that.

I also plan on a couple more pairs of barefoot shoes, I might even get another one with the toes. I love running around in barefoot shoes, they're so much more comfortable for my feet. Once you find a type that fits your feet, go with them!

I'm looking forward to the new projects that will help us organize better. My son's room is currently the most disorganized and I really doubt he'll ever be really clean, but once I get it organized for him, I think he'll be able to keep it cleaner once I go through it, at least for a couple of months.

My home is becoming cleaner by the day, I need to get my clothes back in my closet so I can get my room back to organized. It's taken 6 months to get back to normal from the bed bug incident, but we're finally nearing the clean that I had it then.

What a sweet hubby you have. I love that you consider being with him the best present! DH's birthday is on the 13th so we never really do much for Valentine's Day, and I don't really mind.
Good luck with the new bedroom plans - it sounds exciting!

Lots of snow here, too, but I did make it to church this morning - since I'm the organist I would've felt like a wimp if I didn't make it 4 blocks and others came from further away! My hubby's Dodge Ram got us through, even though the streets hadn't been plowed yet! My hubby built a loft bed for my daughter's room many years ago, and it was a great space saver. Of course now she's gone and the "loft" seems to have because a place to throw stuff we don't know where else to put!

Hahahah! You crack me up! emoticon

I'm so happy to hear about your supportive husband. My husband is awesome and supportive, too, and I know to do a much better job showing how much I appreciate him.

    Enjoy your Sunday indoor!

If you live somewhere where there is an Ikea store, they have metal loft beds with a desk on the bottom. It will take at least two people to put together.

Do you walk in the barefeet shoes or run or just walk around the house in those shoes? Have you ever had issues with plantar fascititis because I am thinking about getting some if they are more comfortable for just walking around the house. I have issues in the past though with my arches so I am wondering how that feels?
Looks like you are making great progress and the loft bed sounds great for your sons room. I really try to stay out of the upstairs where my daughters bedrooms are because it just stresses me out because they are total slobs but I figure it is their room so I just stay out and hope and pray that someday they will change into neat freaks! Otherwise I may never visit where ever they live, I won't be able to get in!
It is freezing rain here in St. Paul so went to the grocery story early and now can just sit back and relax with my workout and meal planning for the week but I won't be going out!
Have a great Sunday and please let me know about those barefeet shoes.

It's still snowing in southwest MN so you have more to come. The fall rate seems to have slowed down. Earlier it was pretty heavy, now it's just snowing. Look pretty out there. It's covered the mess the deers made in our lawn.
