Round 2!

Sunday, February 10, 2013

Ok, the City finally passed down my street with the plows late last night, they made one straight path down the middle of a two lane road, so are we technically now a one way street? Also, this means my driveway is now backed up with compacted snow that I have to clean if I ever hope to leave the house. Interested in pictures of snowmaggedeon?

So, what breakfast fuels another snow workout? I love bacon and I find it hard to eat just two slices so I don't eat it often and I have a trick. I make what I call a scramble omelet. I take two slices of bacon and with my nifty kitchen shears, I cut them into small pieces and render them down. I drain all the fat then I add a whole tomato, some onions, some bell peppers and a whole egg, stir until the egg is scrambled. That's the breakfast of champions for today.

Ok it's now 8 p.m. I went out about noon, took 1hr and 30 minutes to clear the snow the plow pushed into the driveway, burned 975 calories according to my heart rate monitor and SP fitness tracker. Feeling satisfied with myself, I came inside and started dinner, lots of steam veggies, fresh cod, and quinoa. My feel good moment was over when my daughter came into the kitchen and told me the driveway was blocked again! Those bastards! So after dinner I went back out and tackled it again. 40 minutes this time, 375 calories burned. I'm going to take the best outlook on this, I burned over 1300 calories on my rest day! If the plows comes back, it's war!

Love how you are using the snowpocalypse to your advantage. That's some serious shoveling and I think I'd die after about 20 minutes of that! Hope you are not too sore today.
