Today on my 54th birthday I am a bit reflective. How did the years pass so quickly? What will the future hold? Of course, I don't know the answers to these questions but one thing I know is that I am the healthiest I have ever been in my adult life and I am the strongest!
I started looking for a few photos to represent my SP journey to good health.
I joined SP in 2007 but clearly wasn't following the program as shown by these 2008 photos.
I think it was 2010 that I started to following the program, join teams, and participate - the key to success!
I also joined the gym at work and started going 3 times a week.
I remember the first time that I stepped on the elliptical. I could only go for a few minutes without dying. Now I can go for an hour. No problem!
I started strength training and doing more full body exercises and my body started reshaping itself. Over the last couple of years, I haven't lost a lot of pounds but have lost a few pants size.
I feel stronger now than I ever have in my life! When my co-workers make comments like "I wish I could lose weight." I tell them that it's lots of hard work but it is worth it. Then I tell them about Sparkpeople.
