70 Days of ME day 61
Saturday, February 09, 2013
Well, today started nice and early as I had to take my dad to work since I was in need of a vehicle today. So, after I took him to work, I stopped at a diner for breakfast. I had scrambled eggs with green peppers, onions, tomato and ham and oddly enough, it was so good I had pretty much the same thing for dinner too, but at a different diner. lol After breakfast, I went back home and did a few things before going to my last dress appointment to pick up my final 2 dresses that I had altered. I'm so pleased with my new dresses too. :) My friends and I are doing hosting a Murder Mystery in April as a fundraiser and one of the dresses I got back today, I think, would be perfect for this event! So, I got back these two dresses and then went back home to do a few more things before going downtown for a Fire and Ice Festival. It was pretty cool. I had heard there was going to be ice skating so I was super excited to try it...oh my goodness, it was the most lame thing ever. It took us about 10 minutes to put the skates on because they were so terrible and then we literally went around the square once, in about 5 min or less, before taking them off and saying we were done. It wasn't really ice skating. It was moving around on plastic squares pretending to be ice. So, we wandered around for a while before heading into our friends' business, which was right in the middle of all the events. He was offering free hot chololate so we ended up getting put to work either cleaning floors or passing out hot chocolate. So, I got there about 1 and from about 2:30 til 9, I was on my feet cleaning the floors and/or passing out hot chocolate. We went through about 700 cups! After the event was all done and we had finished with the clean-up, Aimee and I were starving so we went to a diner to get dinner. While we sat there, we talked about so many different things and I continued to think how thankful I am for her friendship. You know, people come and go in our lives all the time and Aimee is one of those who, I feel like I have literally known forever, when we only just met, about 6 months ago? It's crazy to think that because she has become my best friend and I look forward to our times together. One of the things we talked about tonight though was just the fact that there are so many things we take for granted. And the biggest thing I have taken for granted lately is the fact that, no matter what I look like, what size I am, how much I weigh or what I had to eat that day, God still loves me...period. There are no rules or stipulations, He just loves me. I am so thankful for that. I need to remember, on a daily basis, that he loves me and that he finds me beautiful, even if I think no one else does.
