Sugar For Breakfast. Sugar For Lunch. Sugar For Dinner.

Saturday, February 09, 2013

I just saw a Sparker asking for advice.

"What am I doing wrong?" the Sparker wailed.

I open up her meal tracker...and she has a coke for breakfast every morning.

Who has COKE for breakfast? It's not even a diet coke! (Not that diet makes it any better, really.)

I won't even go into the rest of her meals...because I've already been too judgmental and feel a little guilty about that.

I think I'm going to change all of my nutrition tracker info to show that I eat two cups of refined sugar three times a day and that I wash it down with sweet tea. Then I will ask others....

"What am I doing wrong?!"

I'll record all the responses I get to my question here on my blog.

She does definitely get brownie points for claiming those sodas on her tracker!

I was fairly nice about it. She seemed truly confused about what was causing her troubles. So, I couldn't be mean to her or anything. It wouldn't have accomplished anything if I HAD been mean to her.

Some people can't let go of some of the things that hamper their progress. I tell them if they truly want this to work, they have to let it go temporally. Endulge very small amounts, but when progress is being made, they will not want those things that slowed them down.
It took me being a soda junkie and weekend beer guzzler and pizza eater to exercise some form of discipline to achieve my goal. I removed soda for 3 months. Beer restricted to two on the weekends. Heck, I go months without drinking beer and the same with soda.
My health has become a priority,so I have to act like it.You have to get into the right mindset to make this new change work, not finding ways of sabotaging yourself and asking why.
Maybe they were being honest and wanted help and hearing from a harsh critic may be the answer.Lend your advice wisely ,Grasshopper.

I hope you were kind to her because sometimes someone really is clueless! At least she is honest that she does have a coke for breakfast. But she really does need some guidance if she thinks coke is in the healthy eating plan.

    I hope she does!

I just sat here thinking, "There's no way I can stop myself from writing a blog about this!"

Haha, I saw that & responded as well...my initial response, "you're kidding, right?" Hopefully she ditches the coke!
