Semi-Invalid No More

In March 2010 I was a semi invalid. This past week I went to Zumba five days in a row. Building my body up from the inside has not been an easy road. The longest time deficiencies in electrolytes was hampering my body's ability to make muscle. I think that has finally been balanced so that I am improving in my strength and stamina.

Just in the last year:

I can now go to the store and won't be in pain for days afterward from bringing the bags of groceries inside.

I can jump in Zumba.

I can go all day (most days) without a nap.

I can read a book aloud to my kids and not fall asleep in mid sentence.

I've slowly added exercise from two days a week to five. (OK - these changes were gradual over the past 3 years - not just the last year. I can't remember where I specifically was in the process a year ago.)

I've slowly increased in intensity from having to walk in place for more than half of Zumba to only walking in place for a portion of a song or two. (Ditto on the changes taking place over 3 years not just one.)

Even if you aren't seeing the scale give back results you'd like, I am so proud of how active you have been.
