My day got off to a weird start, I guess you could say. I'm not a morning person by any stretch of the word. I'd rather stay up all night. I guess that is partly due to the fact I worked second shift for ten years and got used to staying up after work to wind down.
Well, I knew I would have to be up by 6am - not a problem I set the alarm and went to bed by 12:30am. At 5:10am I woke up sweating and shaky. I knew my blood sugar was low and it was 64. So I decided to stay up and fix breakfast. So far so good.
At 7:45am my cousin shows up to go over to my Aunt's house. No problem that's why I had to get up - he was supposedly going to be here at 6:30am. A little late but not a problem. He has goats and they were having babies so he was pretty well beat by the time he got there.
Well, I let my dog out. I tie her on one of those tie out cables and let her relax in the yard. She ran away five years ago - broke out of her and got hit by a truck. So I try to keep a close eye on her. I was in the kitchen when I heard her yelp. So I went out just in time to see another dog by her and my neighbor saying it was a dog she was babysitting. I couldn't tell what kind it was. Well, I got mine in and I noticed blood on her paw. It looked like her "thumb" nail was bent all the way back. I know that had to be hurting - it hurt just to think about. So I call the vet's office and they said they'd see her in about 1 1/2 hours since it wasn't bleeding but just a little. No problem. So I took her on a short walk but I was so worried she'd do something and totally rip it off. Well we went to the vet. She got in the car and was so cute just holding that paw up in the air, like "it hurts". She weighed 37 pounds - shocked. She's part Chow and part something else. She got her shots since she was there and it was time for them. The vet checked the nail and it was broken a little ways from where it comes out - so he wrapped it up and finished breaking it. Needless to say she didn't like that a bit. He checked it afterwards, put some pain medication on it and wrapped it up. She's laying around and I know she's hurting because she's holding her little paw out. For some reason there are alot of dogs running the streets today and all of them were making a bee line towards her. We did manage to get a short walk in after the vets office.
So then my Aunt decides she needs to go back to her house and get some more of her stuff to take to the apartment. I did her laundry yesterday and had just loaded the three bags of it in the car. So I pick her up and we go to the house. She get more of her clothes and a big heavy floor vase. So I had to load the car again and then when we got back to the apartment unload it. My back has been killing me. I have to say this, my Aunt has more clothes than anyone I have ever seen and she wears them all too. She's still got a bunch more clothes to move. I don't know where she's putting them all but she wants them there with her. I meant to go back over to her house and get a few things she gave me this afternoon but I never did. I was too tired.
After our walk we both came home and took a nap. I was so tired. I still am. Hopefully I'll sleep ok. I got a call from my son and he's headed home from Moody Air Force Base in Georgia where he's been visiting friends for the last week. Unfortunately the weather may not be too great on his way home. Praying for good traveling weather for him. So I'll see him somewhere around 8am tomorrow.
I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend. Tomorrow's the day for re-evaluating my week. I already know where I screwed up and what I did good so it's just a matter of getting the screw ups fixed and done with.
