High praise

Saturday, February 09, 2013

DH and MIL arrived home at midmorning. She chatted for a short
time before she drove home. I let DH settle in for a few minutes
and then announced that we had to go to the office. A few quizzical
questions with vague answers and we drove up to the feedstore
door. I walked him in and presented him with the fruits of my
labor the last 2 days. He was impressed and said so. The guy
tending the feedstore had already taken a shine to the 6 drawer
filing cabinet and said he would be happy to take it home. He
even had his pickup there with a trailer to load it. The nicest
thing about it is each drawer just sets on top of the other so
it is easy to assemble. I remember when I brought it home many
years ago and DH thought it was splendid. It has been very
useful but it was time for it to be put to a good use in someone
else's space.
After I explained how I had worked to move all the old files
out to the farm for storage, DH decided he would start burning
some of the 35 boxes of papers today before the rain and snow
moved in. I know it will take more than a few fires to dispose
of all that paper but now it is where he can get this hands on
it and burn some at a time.
When I got up this morning, I had decided to wash the bedding,
change out the comforter on the bed and have all the laundry
done before he got home. I simmered a pot of bean soup so that
is ready for supper. I sent home the last of the cookies and
rolls with DS1 and his GF, plus half of a loaf of banana bread
that one of our older clients gave to DH for all his help with
Medicare forms. Just another perk of being in a small town
where everyone appreciates how hard you work to keep them
in their own homes.
I even took the opportunity for a nap this afternoon and it
felt wonderful. I am a little sore from all that lifting but
it is a good kind of sore.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Sunday. If
you are dealing with snow, take care and stay safe. We'll
be getting ours tonight. HUGS!

Did I mention that your energy is an inspiration???? I hope the snow is kind to you. We had coldish rain yesterday and it is predicted for tomorrow, too, but today was sunny and mid-60's. Everyone is grateful to see the sun; spirits improved as the hours went by. Now I have to get back to getting some things accomplished because you've set the bar high! Hope Sunday goes great!

Great job-lots of exercise for you, but such a great feeling when it is all done. It was great your filing cabinet found a new home.
Hope you don't get too much snow. We watch it on tv and marvel at all that white stuff-it was 77 here today!

    Stay warm.

  • DUXGRL1 SO brought home a bag of Trader Joe's 17 Bean and Barley mix, so I am making bean soup too! I added a lot of veggies, and it is cooking away as I type this. It smells great! Isn't a soup like that just perfect in this weather?
