We got a blizzard.

Saturday, February 09, 2013

We ended up with about 32" of snow. I can't even see my car. I see the shape of it and the antennae sticking up. The enclosed porch has snow on it because the storm windows don't fit right. The front porch is not enclosed and my satellite dish is covered. I haven't even tried the television yet. There must be I would quest a good foot of snow on the ledge and on the porch. I don't have boots, just sneakers. The road hasn't even been plowed yet, so the guy that comes to snow blow the drive way and clean off the porches can't get to the house. I have never seen anything quite like it. I am very surprised about the street not being plowed yet. I am wondering if they are doing that on purpose to keep people off the roads. Westfarms Mall is closed. You know it is bad when they close a major mall down.

This morning you could hear the snow blowers. I saw one guy doing his driveway. The snow was up to his waist. He was having a hard time pushing the snow blower. The windows in my living room do not have storm windows. The snow was stuck to the screen and all you saw was snow, you couldn't see out the window. i had to open the window and bang on the screen to get the snow off. It's cold. The wind was blowing and blew snow in my house. It was so beautiful and virginal. No plows just pure white snow. I grabbed some pictures.

If you received the storm, how much snow did you get? I wish I had boots and a snow suit so I could go out and play. emoticon I am only 61.25"

Wow! Your height in comparison with the amount of snow is telling! Hope you are plowed out soon.

Wow Bonnie! That is a lot of snow!!! We got between 1 1/2 and 2 feet of snow and I thought that was a lot!!! Sounds like a good day to stay at home! That is what we did today. I went outside and shoveled for about 1 hour! Was great exercise and felt refreshed when I came inside. I hope you can get around soon.

    WOW that's a lotta snow!!!!!

You could put on socks, plastic bags, another pair of socks, sneakers, maybe another plastic bag on each foot, and then bundle up to go play outside! (When I was about 5 yrs old, we had a storm like that - snow blew in drifts and covered the door, so when we opened it there was just a wall of snow. I excitedly told the parents we should go up in the attic and jump out the windows into the snow. No one listened to me.) As much as I hate being cold, I do love playing in new snow!

Wow. That was some storm! I have lived through a few of those when I lived in Chicago. I am so happy to live in Florida now and not have to deal with the snow and stuff. But of course, there are always those hurricanes. Stay safe, my friend, and warm.

We got about 30 cm up here in Eastern Ontario, Canada. I could barely throw the snow up on the snowbanks this morning. Then the sun came out and a lot of the snow on our driveway melted. This is the kind of winter day I love!

Stay warm and stay safe. I'm sure the plows will get to your street eventually. I've heard that because of the wind, as soon as the plows remove the snow on a road, the wind blows it right back, so they are having a hard time even keeping the major streets open. Because of the wind, they say the only places that don't have snow are the roofs, since the wind has blown that all off.

Wow, you did get slammed. We olny have about a foot up here, but with the winds, we had to go out the back door, there was no getting out the front!Up here on the coast, we are getting snowman snow falling down now, so I am out to shovel very soon. Before it gets too heavy out there.

OOOooo!! You got a LOT of snow!! We only got about 1 foot. Don't you go out in it! If you fell down, they wouldn't find you until spring thaw!! They've cleaned our walks and stoops here, but I know CT and MA were hit worse than NJ. Stay warm!!
