Here we are into the second week of February already. The weather has been cold with sunshine for the most part. I think I am going to hang some laundry out to dry today. My husband has noticed a difference in the electric bill even with just hanging the towels out to dry, since they take so long.
This week has been an off week. My energy level has been really low, and was yawning a lot more than I usually do. I am unsure of the reason, but have some suspicions. First thought is that I did 30 minutes on the treadmill on Sunday, then bowled on Monday night after a rough day of work. I do not run on the treadmill because of feeling unsteady, which is part of the fibromyalgia, and I do not need to set the exercise-induced asthma off. So even though the length of time is less than what a lot of people do, it might have been too much for me at this time. Second thought is that I am not eating enough, or eating the wrong things for what my body needs. I thought I have been getting my protein with some carbs, but I am finding that I have not gotten enough protein because my cuticles are cracking and nails are breaking like crazy.
I think that I am going to need to watch what I eat in the evening for the next little while because I have a suspicion that having chicken makes my blood sugar drop during the night, and I wake up sweating in the middle of the night. A couple of weeks ago that happened, but this morning was when I put the two together. So I am going to try and make sure I have beef or something like almond butter in the evening and see if it happens again. If it works, I will take some almond butter on the cruise to have if I get hungry after dinner. It is very interesting to me how the body gives us a signal if there is an issue... the difficult part sometimes is figuring out what foods cause what reactions and when.
I went to the gym on my way home from work last night and did 20 minutes on the treadmill. My hips had been screaming at me for a couple of days, so they are better today, but I do need to go do my strength training today along with some light treadmill.
We fly out in 2 weeks!!! I guess I better get the hotel booked. I am aiming for one that has hotel as well as pier shuttle. Since the airport and pier are only 5 miles (?) apart, I ought to be able to find something for a decent price. We get to Tampa at 9pm, so it is basically for sleeping and a breakfast would be nice too.
I am enjoying my class for InDesign. Definitely an opposite of last semester's dread. There is a fair amount of video and projects to do, but I am learning things to better myself in knowledge for a computer degree. The teacher does not have us turn in all the projects, but I still do them all because each focuses on a different aspect of the chapter. It also worked to my advantage because this week's lesson involved turning in projects from 2 chapters ago since the chapters work together in the program, and I had already done them. So I was able to start next week's chapter reading, and start getting ahead for the week that we are gone. I will still have to buy some internet time on the cruise ship to turn in work, take the quiz, and answer our discussion questions, but with 2 days at sea, that should not be an issue. I also want to have the one chapter finished before we leave so that I only have one to focus on, since the "weeks" open and close on Monday for each chapter.
Well, I better get going on my schoolwork today since the laundry is in the washer. I will go to the gym after lunch. I hope all have a good weekend.
