Filling out my race schedule

Saturday, February 09, 2013

Well, yesterday was a dull day compared to Thursday. I did get my jumping jacks done but not the burpees. Those will be today. I was biting off just a bit too much, unless of course I really wanted to have a heart attack. Then it would have been just right.

Getting back to exercise and hearing everyone talk about plans for Spring has gotten me excited. So what did I do. I have signed up for 3 more 5k's this year! Not the smartest decision money wise, but it will be fun. So far my schedule is:

Oak Forest Fleadh on 3/9
Earth Day 5K on 4/27
Bark in the Park 5/4 (I know I shouldn't have done 1 week between races but I really want to do both of these)
Foam Fest 5K/Obstacle course 6/1
Hot Chocolate 5K 11/3

I'm hope to add two or three more races to this. I would like to do the Bunny Rock on March 30, the Santa Hustle in December, and I'm considering a Diva Mud Run in September.

I'm excited to be racing and planing to race. It is lots of fun for me and great motivation. The only trouble I'm seeing is the one week break in the end of April/beginning of May. I really hope I can handle both runs but hubby wants me to do the Earth Day run and Ms. Dog Obsessed has to do the Bark in the Park. I know I'll be asking for lots of good ju-ju that week!

So there you have it. Kitty is officially a running addict. Not too shabby for someone who wasn't supposed to walk and hates running hun?

Oh, and on a personal, beggy note. Bark in the Park is a fundraiser for the Anti-Cruelty Society. If you can help my fundraising page is:

Warm Wags!

Wow, you are going to be a racing fool this year! I wouldn't worry too much about the two races so close together. I'm sure you'll be fine since you'd most likely be running that distance anyway. Maybe as the months go buy and time gets closer to the end of the year you should schedule a run in January if you can find one. That might help keep you motivated during Christmas time. Just something to mull over. emoticon emoticon

There are no events like those in Greece... I don't know if I would participate (I don't really like running) but they could be quite fun! I would love to have the option!

Great schedule, as long as you listen to your body the two back to back shouldn't be a problem

It's a great race schedule! Don't worry about the closeness of those two races too much though. You'd probably be running at least that far a few times a week anyway, a race may be higher pressure but it's not longer than your regular route.
