Bronchitis

Saturday, February 09, 2013

Where has the time gone?!

Just quick update...I have bronchitis...a cold/allergy thing wouldn't go away and my chest started hurting..went on about a month, would ease up...then back worse...so I finally saw the doctor. Started an inhaler, antibiotics, and prednisone yesterday.

I have continued to exercise, but not at my usual intensity..and I took off a few days. I have made several pots of soup, tried a couple new recipes. Drinking lots of water and herbal tea..feels good! I have not lost weight this month..but I haven't gained. I have eaten some foods for comfort emoticon

I still feel positive, no depression, which is such a blessing! Planning to get on track with my eating and up exercise as my lungs improve.

Hope everyone is doing well! emoticon

Bronchitis is no fun. Hope by now you are feeling better and can catch your breath a little easier. I used to get that a few times a year when I was teaching. Hope the coughing doesn't linger too long. Sounds like you are taking good care of yourself.

Sorry to hear that you are under the weather. I have also been off for 6 weeks after I have broken a rib and I am only now slowly easing into it. Take all the time you need to recuperate. It is so important not to put strain on your body.

Sheri, I'm sorry to hear you have bronchitis, and pray you heal up fast! I had it at the middle of the similar virus and my cold lasted a month as well. I have heard that exercising while having something from the neck up is ok (moderate) but anything of the respiratory nature neck down exercise is not advisable. Please take care. I don't want you to end up with chronic bronchitis or pneumonia. Take a serious break though I know you hate to lose momentum. You are wise so this advice is probably something you know already. It's just hard to back off completely but your body will thank you. No room for guilt here.

    Love you!
