OOh so now you what to do a 10k?!?!

Yes that's right. I signed up for my very first 10k and it will be taking place on May 11th 2013. I'm very nervous and excited at the same. I said I will never do a 10k because honestly, I don't really enjoy running. I do like the way I feel after running but the process is not very pleasing to me. However, I needed to challenge myself a little more. I needed to get my butt off the couch and start to workout again seriously as I used to.

I will train using the "Spark your way to a 10k" program but I'll tweak it a little bit to fit my personal goals. I plan to do at least 2 5k before the 10k. I have already signed up for one in March and I will sign up for one in April.

Soooooo, Let's get running emoticon

    I loved your blog! I was training for 5k from not running since college and knee surgery. I must say when I was very diligent I almost made it through the 8 week training program...I have not given up though I restart and I know I will finish it and I try to to the virtual 5k races here on spark every week if I can. I have noticed since I picked up the running my legs have looked the best ever in my life!! I too love the feeling after a run but also when one of my really favorite songs comes on my ipod for that 3-4 minutes I loose myself in the song and that feels great too! Thanks for inspiring me to emoticon and reassuring me that emoticon
