I've been doing pretty well this week without trying too hard. I find that when I take the pressure off myself to be "perfect" that is when I do my best.

I had two great workouts Thursday and Friday. On Thursday I did a MyOMyTV kettlebell workout called "Super Variety Kettlebell Workout". It was like this:

20/1:00 intervals of:

One arm thruster, R- 20 lbs
One arm thruster, L- 20 lbs
Squat and row- 30 lbs
Jump Rope
Mountain runners
Kettlebell swings- 20 lbs
Bent Over Row- 30 lbs
Upright Row- 30 lbs
Lunges R- 20 lbs
Lunges L- 20 lbs

x 3 rounds for a 30 minute workout

This was intense but the 20s rest was just enough. I usually cut the rest to no more than 15s if I am doing one minute intervals, but with all those full-body combo moves 20s was great. It was just enough to catch my breath a little and move on. As you can see I used either my 20 lb kettlebell, Apollo, or my 15 lb dumbbells for everything.

I did not count my reps for this workout. I am finding that counting my reps 1. distracts me from my form 2. discourages me. When my boyfriend comes out to keep me company he will count my reps for me, but I think I am done doing it myself. I get a better workout when I just focus on form and hit it 100% effort and don't count.

Then last night I did a very old Bodyrock called Perverted Punisher.

20 commando pushups
50 side jump lunges
50 jump rope jacks
10 reverse pushups
10 hanging knee raises
10 weighted squat jumps

Round 1- 6:31
Round 2- 5:05
Round 3- 5:49
Round 4- 5:32
Round 5- 5:55

I'm not sure what happened in round 1 there but apparently I was really screwing around. But then I got down to business. LOL. Those commando pushups were the WORST, man. They took FOREVER. I actually did all the other exercises unbroken- in each round- but the commando pushups were killer. My shoulders were still tired from other workouts. I used Boris, my 8 lb medicine ball for the squat jumps. I don't like to go too heavy on squat jumps. 12 lbs is about the max I will squat jump with.

And today mah rump is sore :)

About the food, I've been doing pretty well. I've been eating a ton of raw veggies, probably because I found this new salad dressing I could probably bathe in. It's SO GOOD. It's a little higher in calories than I typically would like in a dressing, but it's a tradeoff. I always measure it out, you do not need very much of it, and it's getting me to shovel vegetables in my mouth. So I'll take it.

I confess though, right now I am eating a cinnamon roll. It's Saturday!

    Oof. I've been curious about kettleballs, but "workouts" generally aren't my thing. I may go do an experimental class at some point, just to try them (and learn proper form!).

    *also: SO nothing wrong with the odd cinnamon bun, if you work it in :)

    Mmmm cinnamon roll!!!! I've found a good salad dressing, even with more cals/fat is definitely worth it if it gets you eating a ton of veggies!
